The Administration of of UWC Samos has developed its Policy for the quality & safety of its products with a view to producing high-standard products using effective production and control methods in order to fully cover, on the one hand, existing legislation and, on the other hand, the requirements of its customers.

The of UWC Samos through its Product Quality & Safety Policy, it is committed to:

 

  • In the production of products that cover the applicable European & National Legislation
  • Carrying out all necessary checks for the production of safe products
  • To cover on an ongoing basis the existing legislation regarding the cooperative's building facilities and equipment
  • Providing the necessary resources for the continuous maintenance and hygiene of the facility and its equipment
  • In covering the legislative provisions governing the cooperative's personnel
  • Continuous monitoring of staff hygiene
  • To cover all legislative provisions regarding the operation of the cooperative
  • In developing conditions of mutual trust and cooperation with its suppliers
  • In performing services at the desired time and in full compliance with the requirements of its customers
  • To effectively address and satisfy the existing and anticipated education, training and specialization needs of employees in the cooperative.
  • Providing the necessary resources to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the cooperative's Food Quality & Safety System.
  • Continuous monitoring of developments in its industry and participation in them
  • To protect employees and customers in cases of health crises (such as COVID-19)
  • In the employment of appropriately trained personnel, respecting the Legislation on labor issues and without racial discrimination, with auxiliary functions and with the provision of the necessary resources (i.e. moral and material means), The more specific food quality/safety objectives in the operation of the business are established and reviewed through Management Reviews
  • In achieving and maintaining high standards of quality, safety and hygiene across its entire range of products. The tool through which the cooperative implements, controls and adapts, whenever necessary, its Policy for the Quality/Safety of its products is the BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 – ISO 22000- ISO 9001 – ISO 14001 Systems that it has developed and applies, for which it is committed to continuous improvement. These standards are committed to the principles and requirements of the most modern and accepted applications and practices with an orientation and goal of Quality, Hygiene & Safety of products, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, environmental protection, respect for the human factor without discrimination. Its basic principle and commitment, as well as the philosophy of each of its executives, is to provide its customers with products that fully meet their contractual requirements, comply with the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and achieve the quality and safety goals set by the company for each project it undertakes. It continuously reviews and improves the characteristics of its products and services, where possible, as well as the effectiveness of its Processes and by extension the S.D.P.& A.T. . It sets measurable and objective goals for quality and safety at the cooperative level, at the functional level of Departments and/or Processes as well as with regard to products or services. These goals are established and evaluated as to the degree of their achievement within the framework of the S.D.P.& A.T. Review by the Management of the cooperative. It provides the necessary resources for the smooth, efficient and effective operation of each Department of the AES with the aim of sustainable development and the development of a culture of quality and food safety.
  • Reducing resource efficiency, promoting biodiversity, minimizing waste, recycling, reducing CO2 emissions and protecting workers in the industry. These are achieved through the use of sustainable materials, reducing water and energy use and developing practices that respect the environment.

The validity and recognition of the systems is achieved through their certification by an Independent Certification Body in accordance with the BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 – ISO 22000- ISO 9001 standards. In order to implement the Quality & Safety Policy of its products, the cooperative has developed long-term partnerships with specialized partners with the aim of continuously implementing the procedures of the above systems.
